About ICDT
Isiolo Community Development Trust (ICDT) is a community-owned, community-led, and community-managed Trust in Isiolo County. The purpose of the Trust is to facilitate a unified voice and legitimacy of the citizens in Isiolo, right from the village to the county level. ICDT was established by the people of Isiolo, through their civil society organizations, in collaboration with the County Government of Isiolo, in a process that was facilitated by Agha Khan Foundation – YETU Initiative, with support of the USAID.
The establishment of the Trust was undertaken through a co-creation process that was led by the Interim Steering Committee (ISC) which was identified through an inclusive process. The ISC has established a Board of Trustee that has spearheaded the establishment and operationalization of ICDT. Similarly, the ISC, in consultation with the YETU Initiative has come up with a plan and budget whose key activities included development of an overarching strategy to operationalize the ICDT, membership mobilization, and stakeholder engagement, establishment of an office and recruitment of core staff.

1. To organize local organizations to realize the dream of Isiolo community living in harmony and prosperity in the formation of a local charitable and development organization.
2.To act in the general interest of Isiolo communities on all matters pertaining to/or touching upon their social, cultural, and economic growth.
3.To raise funds and to receive donations, subscription, and contributions of moneys or assets and property of any kind to be used for the purpose of promoting the principles of devolution, research and creation of repository
for County data for improved decision making, promoting community philanthropy through partnerships with individuals, state actors and private sector, provide technical and financial support to local civic society, leadership, and citizen development.
4.To receive grants, raise and invest funds ,receive bequests and or monies meant for sub granting to charitable organizations as per the terms and conditions set by the grantors.
5.To create, acquire, own, and manage the assets of the Trust and any other associated set by the grantors.
6. To register and mobilize membership to the Trust.
7. To facilitate the achievement of the objectives of the Trust in keeping with the vision, mission statement and strategic plans.
8. To do all things as permitted by the law.
